Sony has created a prototype fuel cell that fits in the palm of his hand. This device designed for phones and portable players consists of a lithium polymer battery, a battery of security and a control circuit. According to an engineer company, Sony take time to integrate a fuel cell system in mobile devices, “and have finally reached the level of a commercial design.”

The apparatus uses methanol as an energy source, and controls the supply of hybrid liquid through a pump which regulates the amount depending on the electricity they need at any given moment. Sony says that with only 10 ml of methanol its possible to see 14 hours of digital TV although as usual, official estimates should be taken with some scepticism.
